The Idwal Grade is an industry-recognised score from 0 to 100 that reflects vessel condition and allows market comparisons to other vessels of similar type and age. The screening service uses two versions of the Idwal Grade as follows:
Inspected Idwal Grade
Where a recent inspection has taken place and permission to use has been granted, the inspected Idwal Grade is displayed. This has been programmatically generated from the 500+ data ponits gathered during on-board inspections.
Estimated Idwal Grade
Where an inspected Idwal Grade is unavailable, surpervised machine learning models, trained on our dataset ofover 12,000 inspections, generate an estimated Idwal Grade. On average, these are within 3 points of the actual grade.
