Based in Shanghai and led by Naval Architect and Newbuilding Project Manager, Jonathan Kingdon, our dedicated China office serves Idwal's extensive project and client base in the region.

With over 150 newbuilding projects completed and dozens of Dry Docking projects managed across all major Chinese shipyards, the team serves leading organisations such as CSSC, ICBC, Sinochem, and more.

Idwal can provide a wide range of resources, allowing us to provide customised solutions correlated to the client’s needs. These services include, but are not strictly limited to Full Docking Superintendents, Paint Supervisors, Steel Supervisors, Safety Officers, Pipe Supervisors, Ballast Water Treatment System Supervisors, and EGCS Supervisors.

If required, Idwal can put together a project ‘team’ to oversee various aspects of the docking, and rates for this can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis depending on project requirements.

Combined with our parent company, Graig, we have been actively delivering new building supervision services in Asia for almost 25 years. 

Our group has an extensive history of maritime innovation and service provision dating back 100 years from when it was first established in 1919 and during the last 25 years’ we have supervised the construction of more than 240 vessels.
