- Engine Room and Machinery — critical and auxiliary machinery, pipework, cooling systems, switchboards
- Fire Fighting Equipment and Systems — fixed systems (CO₂, foam, water mist), pumps, hoses, breathing apparatus
- Lifesaving Appliances — lifeboats, life rafts, EPIRBs, SARTs, immersion suits
- Safe Working Environment — PPE, safety signage, anti-slip coatings, pilot ladder rigging
- Pollution Control — MARPOL compliance, BWTS, overboard discharge, SOPEP documentation
- Onboard Management — maintenance backlogs, SMS familiarity, PSC history, work/rest hours
- Vessel Capabilities and Cargo Systems — vessel type-specific assessments, cargo handling equipment
2. Vessel Management
