Idwal are seeking an enthusiastic and Dynamic IT and System Support Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to learn, with a can do attitude and who can get things done. The successful candidate will provide essential IT support within our organisation, assisting with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of our IT systems, with the opportunity to get involved in the office operations.

What you’ll do

  • Provide first and second line technical support to employees, responding to and resolving IT-related issues promptly and efficiently.

  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams, as well as our Azure instance backend M365 administration.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices.

  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts in various systems, including bespoke systems, as required.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and support requests.

  • Act as a point of contact for customers using our bespoke software, providing support, addressing queries, and escalating issues to the engineering team when necessary.

  • Ensure the office network is available at all times.

  • Work closely with the engineering team to understand the technical aspects of our bespoke software, ensuring seamless communication and support for both internal and external users.

  • Champion cyber security ensuring all users follow our security policies.

  • Proactively resolve any security issues raised via our pen testing and through the Microsoft Security Portal.

  • Assist with ongoing IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.

  • Assist in tracking and managing IT inventory, including hardware and software licenses.

  • Work closely with third party providers to ensure all solutions are fit for purpose.

  • Work closely with Office Management and Health and Safety to maintain a safe and welcoming office environment.

  • Other Adhoc duties as required.

What you’ll need

 

Essential
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to think outside the box

  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users.

  • A can do attitude

  • A highly customer focused mentality

  • An all round technical background in IT support

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Desirable
  • IT related qualifications (CompTIA, MS Certifications, Degree)

  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure and AWS)

  • Strong working knowledge of MacOS

  • Familiarity with basic principles of Cyber security and data privacy

  • Strong understanding of Office 365 and Entra ID

  • Understanding of Backup and DR technologies

  • DNS Understanding
